ACTIVITY 1:  Go TO THE TOURISM NEW ZEALAND WEBSITE AND CLICK ON THE ‘FACTS - NEW ZEALAND PEOPLE’ TAB. READ ABOUT THE PEOPLE OF NEW ZEALAND AND THEN CHOOSE THREE INTERESTING FACTS TO POST ON YOUR BLOG. THE FACTS MUST BE WRITTEN IN YOUR OWN WORDS. DO NOT SIMPLY COPY AND PASTE THE FACTS FROM THE WEBSITE.

    Maori people travelled thousands of miles across the Pacific Ocean in Waka’s (a Maori boat) and were the first people in New Zealand.
  2. New Zealand locals are friendly & kind. They will greet you and start up an interesting conversation and make some awesome friends while there.
  3. Most Kiwis love the outdoors for example camping, hiking and doing thirling activities etc that the country provides.
  4. New Zealanders are quite clever because of their amazing inventions/attractions that get a lot of customers wanting to participate.
  5. Image result for All black world cupRugby is the most common sport in New Zealand. There is an NZ team called the All Black who won the World Cup uncountable of times.

  2. Kia ora Brooke and welcome to the Winter Learning Journey blogging programme! I am so happy that you have joined us this year.

    I hope that you enjoyed learning a bit more about New Zealand through the Tourism NZ website. Were there any facts that really surprised you?

    I must admit that when I moved to New Zealand seven years ago I was surprised by how many kiwis loved being in the out-of-doors. I had done some hiking and biking in Canada (my home country) but hadn't ever tried mountain climbing or tramping until I moved to NZ. I do really like it now. What about you? Are you an outdoorsy person?

    I hope that you will continue to blog with us over the holiday break. I absolutely love reading your posts and learning more about NZ and about your interests, thoughts and ideas.
